Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C) delivers exceptional performance in safely removing, treating, and disposing of tank waste. H2C leads the nation's largest and most complex radioactive waste cleanup, including closure of the legacy waste tanks at Hanford containing 56 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste. The Product Owner organization is responsible for two basic roles or functions: Product Owners and Product Administrators. Product Owners are responsible for feature definition, backlog prioritization, roadmap maintenance, lifecycle stewardship, and risk management to support H2C mission delivery and continuous digital modernization. Product Administrators are responsible for system administration, service ticket resolution, operational troubleshooting, service desk performance, maintenance window execution, infrastructure changes, and product specific operational support tasks. The Product Owner Supervisor provides overall ownership, leadership, management, oversight, and execution for the Product Ownership function and systems administration within H2C Digital Operations. Ensures digital products, systems, services, and supporting infrastructure deliver measurable business value, align with H2C enterprise digital strategy, and support operational readiness, reliability, availability, security, and user satisfaction. The Product Owner Supervisor facilitates and monitors the implementation of H2C policies, procedures, and Digital Operations standards associated with product governance practices, value delivery principles, operational readiness and other operational commitments or service level agreements, standardization of operational practices, security of systems and data, and timely response to incidents and user needs. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Supervises the Product Owner group activities in accordance with H2C policies, company procedures, ISMS principles, and Digital Operations performance expectations. Supervises a group of 10–20 direct or matrixed Product Owners, Analysts, and Administrators responsible for product strategy, backlog management, product lifecycle performance. Owns product lifecycle direction, strategic prioritization, performance accountability, operational readiness, system performance, and support for assigned digital products and infrastructure components. Directs resources in accordance with schedule commitments, scheduled maintenance windows, service levels, and operational commitments. Make decisions with direct impact on operational continuity, customer experience, cybersecurity posture, and alignment with H2C's Digital Transformation strategy. Ensures product compliance with architecture standards, cybersecurity requirements, and operational processes, coordinating across multiple support organizations. Approves changes to infrastructure within defined boundaries and supports operational risk management activities. Other Responsibilities: * Provide coaching, guidance, and performance feedback to staff. * Set challenging goals for individuals and the group to drive performance and professional growth. * Oversee resource balancing across work queues, tasks, and operational initiatives. * Establish expectations for timely resolution of issues, system monitoring, and operational best practices. * Establish product strategy, roadmap, vision, and business case requirements. * Ensure backlog prioritization aligns with architecture, cybersecurity, risk, and business value. * Approve Business Use Cases, reports, and product recommendations to governance bodies. * Maintain product registry, compliance, and operational documentation. * Ensure products meet availability, reliability, security, and user satisfaction targets. * Lead causal analysis, risk mitigation, and lifecycle management. * Track budget, schedule, and performance metrics; execute recovery plans as required. * Ensure documentation including system inventories, operational procedures, and configuration baselines is maintained. * Coordinate with Product, System, and Cyber Admins for changes, maintenance windows, and operational support. * Approve infrastructure changes within authority limits. * Lead and oversee system updates, patching, configuration changes, and maintenance windows. * Ensure accurate execution of operational tasks such as deployments, user management, monitoring, and backup/restore activities. * Coordinate cross team changes to reduce operational risk and avoid service disruption. * Ensure proper cybersecurity scans, assessments, and mitigations are carried out by Cyber Admins. * Validate compliance with architecture standards and operational controls. * Regular updates to immediate manager and leadership. * Cross-functional coordination with operations, cybersecurity, engineering, and business personnel. * Participation in governance, assessments, reviews, and operational readiness evaluations. * Interface with external oversight entities. * Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and operational controls. * Incorporate ISMS principles into organizational activities. * Promote a safe, secure, and collaborative environment that supports reliable digital operations.

Qualifications

Grade 18: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, science, business or related discipline and 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Grade 19: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, science, business or related discipline and 6 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is larger, and the expected level of performance is increased.

Compensation

In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, H2C takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial grade and salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made at the appropriate grade level and within the targeted hiring range posted according to these factors. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
