Job Summary: While working under the supervision of the HAMMER Radiation Safety Training Manager, the Radiological Worker Evaluator provides support for the Radiation Worker training and qualification process. This position is responsible for conducting Radiation Worker training and practical exams that meet the requirements of 10 CFR 835 and the approved training program description. This position will participate as part of a team and will conduct various activities on a rotating basis. Job duties of this position include: *Mentoring Radiation Worker students. *Preparing students for successful completion of required performance activities and evaluation of students' performance in an exam scenario. *Providing feedback to the students and correct knowledge or skill weaknesses. *Providing performance evaluations for Radiological Control Technicians, involve periodic restocking and organization of training materials. NOTE: This is a part-time (hourly) position based on Hanford contractor training support needs. Average work schedule anticipated to be approximately 5 - 10 hours weekly with occasional weeks of up to 40 hours. This position will also need to commit to working a routine schedule developed between the successful candidate and their lead.

Qualifications

*High School Diploma or GED, plus 5 years of experience in operational radiological safety. *Current or past qualification as a DOE Radiological Control Technician or Health Physics Technician, or qualification as an ANSI 3.1 Radiological Control Technician or Health Physics Technician. *Ability to obtain and maintain a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Credential badge.

Compensation

In compliance with Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) and Department of Energy (DOE) Hanford Field Office (HFO) direction, employees issued initial badges on or after September 1st, 2025, are required to obtain and maintain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Credential. To obtain this credential, new employees must successfully complete and pass a federal background check investigation. This investigation encompasses multiple areas of eligibility and includes a declaration of illegal drug activities, including use, supply, possession, or manufacture within the last year. This includes marijuana and cannabis derivatives, which are still considered illegal under federal law, regardless of state laws.
