H2C leads the nation's largest and most complex radioactive waste cleanup, including closure of the legacy waste tanks at Hanford containing 56 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste. H2C seeks an Operations Support Specialist (OSS) to provide support to staff within the Industrial Hygiene Department. Under general supervision of the Technical Integration Manager, the OSS acts as an independent contributor in all conventional aspects of the subject matter or the functional area of the assignments. Can execute complex, business-sensitive, and proprietary duties with discretion. Interfaces with senior management, client representatives, labor representatives, and regulators, as necessary to execute IH Department business. Is involved in decisions and actions that have a high visibility impact on the successful achievement of company goals. The OSS is responsible for providing support and advice in anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of occupational health hazards, as well as technical and regulatory support on occupational health issues. Supports new hire onboarding to implement the assigned training plan and coordinate required trainings, required medical appointments, including Hammer training, H2C training, medical and dosimetry. Supports and facilitates workshops, provide coordination of classroom sessions, IHT rotation, and block scheduling. Submits qualification records to training, provides coordination for IPC activities supporting a proficient work environment and assists with the development and implementation of Industrial Hygiene department goals. An understanding of regulations in areas such as Industrial Hygiene, Health and Safety, or Environmental is key as the OSS is involved in decisions and actions that have a high visibility impact on the successful achievement of company goals. Duties include, but are not limited to: * Maintain and ensure proper maintenance of training programs, materials, including ensuring qualification cards are appropriately updated prior to issue. * Actively participate and periodically review training in alignment with Industrial Hygiene program recommendations. * Coordinate implementation of instrumentation and technical procedures in compliance with the local, state, and federal agencies to support worker safety. * Develop proficiency modules for IH & IHT qualification and requalification * Provide project support to develop and coordinate and implement IH projects. * Develop presentations, charts, and other graphics.
Qualifications
Grade 16: Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in related field and 3 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Grade 17: Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in related field and 5 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is larger, and the expected level of performance is increased. Grade 18: Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in related field and 7 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is significantly larger, and the expected level of performance is greatly increased.
Compensation
In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, H2C takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial grade and salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made at the appropriate grade level and within the targeted hiring range posted according to these factors. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
