H2C leads the nation's largest and most complex radioactive waste cleanup, including closure of the legacy waste tanks at Hanford containing 56 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste. The OE is responsible for providing first line direction to bargaining unit personnel, performing various tasks including Waste Transfer Operations, TSCR Operations, Retrieval Operations, Lock Out Tag Out, etc. in support of overall Tank Farms Operations, as well as maintaining configuration control and coordination of all activities throughout assigned facilities. This position is accountable for operating the Tank Farms in a safe and compliant manner in accordance with applicable Technical and Environmental Safety Requirements utilizing approved policies and procedures while implementing Integrated Safety Management and Conduct of Operations. * Conduct pre-job briefings to ensure personnel involved in the work activity are familiar with, at a minimum, work scope, hazards, hazard controls, precautions, limitations, required training, and response to emergencies. * Conduct work package Operations acceptance and closeout. * Perform work approvals for work documents to ensure all documentation and operational requirements are met. * Oversee the execution of waste tank transfers/processing. * Review work instructions and resolve work instruction issues and approve work packages. * Act as the facility lock and tag controlling organization administrator and assist with lock and tag surveillances as required. * Perform Field Work Supervisor (FWS) duties for assigned work activities. * Participate in work planning ensuring ISMS and Operational requirements are met. * Monitor activities to ensure procedure compliance. * Perform transfer procedure reviews and walk downs. * Participates on Design Review Teams, Startup Readiness Review Teams, Start-up Readiness Review Teams, and other special committees to provide technical comments and input. * Develops and implements preventive/predictive maintenance programs including schedules and procedures to enhance plant availability and reliability. * Troubleshoots equipment failures and provides technical guidance on repair methods, replacement economics, and/or operating techniques. * Supports analyzing equipment and systems problems to determine corrective actions to return equipment and systems to normal service. * Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Grade 16: * Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in related field; and * 2-4 years of related experience OR completion of Operations Engineer (OE) Qualification, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Grade 17: * Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in related field; and * Five (5) years related experience OR three (3) years related experience and completion of Operations Engineer (OE) and Shift Manager Qualification, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is larger, and the expected level of performance is increased.

Compensation

In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, H2C takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made within the targeted hiring range posted. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
