Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C) delivers exceptional performance in safely removing, treating, and disposing of tank waste. H2C leads the nation's largest and most complex radioactive waste cleanup, including closure of the legacy waste tanks at Hanford containing 56 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste. H2C is in search of a Digital Strategy & Planning manager to shape H2C's digital direction by leading the software portfolio, driving modernization and rationalization, and ensuring technology investments align with enterprise priorities. The role oversees enterprise architecture, spanning data, solution, and cybersecurity, to ensure systems and platforms support long term business strategy and future transformation. This position also leads Office of Digital Transformation (ODT) business operations and performance reporting, producing executive ready insights that integrate financials, staffing, capability maturity, and strategic outcomes. Through strong leadership and cross organizational partnership, the manager ensures digital strategy, architecture, operations, and planning move together to advance H2C's mission. Duties include, but not limited to: * Lead strategic direction for H2C's software portfolio, ensuring investments align with enterprise goals. * Drive software rationalization, modernization efforts, and long range digital planning. * Oversee prioritization, governance, and resource alignment for digital initiatives. * Direct enterprise architecture functions (data, solution, cybersecurity) to ensure cohesive system and platform alignment. * Maintain and mature the H2C business capability map, ensuring architecture supports transformation milestones. * Provide architectural guardrails, strategic clarity, and alignment without owning implementation delivery. * Oversee ODT's digital project portfolio, ensuring scheduling, prioritization, and resource planning support organizational outcomes. * Identify gaps, risks, and dependencies within digital initiatives and recommend strategic solutions. * Lead cost management, operational reporting, and performance management processes for ODT. * Prepare executive ready materials for reviews, workforce planning, strategy sessions, and performance forums. * Consolidate data, insights, and narratives into clear, cohesive leadership reporting. * Manage and develop the Digital Strategy & Planning team, providing coaching, performance management, workload oversight, and professional development. * Foster a culture of accountability, inclusion, collaboration, and innovation. * Oversee staffing strategy, succession planning, and capability development within the team. * Partner with cross functional leaders to ensure digital strategy, architecture, operations, and business planning move together. * Build trusted relationships with leadership, program owners, and technical teams to unify enterprise digital direction.
Qualifications
Grade 20: BA/BS in related discipline with 8 years of related experience or a combination of education and experience.
Compensation
In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, H2C takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial grade and salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made at the appropriate grade level and within the targeted hiring range posted according to these factors. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
