Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C) delivers exceptional performance in safely removing, treating, and disposing of tank waste. H2C leads the nation's largest and most complex radioactive waste cleanup, including closure of the legacy waste tanks at Hanford containing 56 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste. Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C) is looking for a Manager for the Procedures group. Duties may include: * Reports directly to the H2C Procedures Manager, promotes a positive, safety-conscious, and collaborative work environment consistent with the H2C mission, vision, and values. * Implements ISMS, VPP, and EMS responsibilities in assigned area(s) of responsibility. * Effectively leads and directs procedure writer activities to include monitoring and approving procedure workflows. * Provides timely and accurate communications and reporting of project performance, issues, opportunities, risks, and risk mitigation actions to the Procedures Manager. * Ensures that staffing levels, skill mix, work schedules, and budgets are developed and implemented to meet the procedure group's assigned work requirements consistent with company objectives. * Manages assigned scope and subordinates by ensuring adequate resources are provided, assigning and tracking tasks, evaluating personnel performance and providing professional development opportunities. * Mentors, trains, coaches and counsels' staff in the effective development and delivery of assigned programs, projects and deliverables. * Identifies opportunities for improvement, professional development, training, ongoing review or work products/deliverables, and adjustments to schedule. * Ensures adherence to all contract requirements and applicable state/federal regulations as appropriate. * Possess excellent communications skills and assists customers with procedure process questions. * Writes/modifies clear and concise procedures/changes from vendor manuals, drawings, data sheets, equipment specifications and/or user input in adherence to Procedure Professions Association (PPA) guidelines. * Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Grade 20: BA/BS in a related discipline and 8+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education/experience. Grade 21: BA/BS in a related discipline and 10+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education/experience. Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is larger, and the expected level of performance is increased.
Compensation
In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, H2C takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial grade and salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made at the appropriate grade level and within the targeted hiring range posted according to these factors. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
