At Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo), located in Richland, Washington, we are dedicated to providing a sustainable future for the historic Hanford area by protecting the Columbia River and remediating the Central Plateau. Our Radiation (Rad) Protection Programs organization is seeking a Co-Op Rad Protection student who has the desire to gain valuable, real-world experience related to Radiological Protection. Under direct supervision, the individual will perform job duties that may include, but are not limited to, the following: * Assist with reviewing radiological work records, procedures, technical documents for editorial or graphical issues. * Assist in creating/maintaining power point presentations, excel and word documents. * Assist in gathering and reviewing radiological work records to support monthly/annual reports. * Maintain weekly staff meeting minutes. * Develop, update, and maintain RadCon web page, including understanding the website design, layout, and functionality. * Assist in other RadCon projects. * Interface daily with RadCon Staff members (e.g., Managers, Supervisors, Rad Engineers, and Radiological Control Technicians).

Qualifications

* A U.S. citizen. * At least 18 years of age. * Actively enrolled in a full-time degree program * Currently pursuing a degree in Health Physics, Computer Science, or related degree. * Maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) during their college enrollment. * Currently enrolled with either Washington State University Tri-Cities (WSU-TC), Columbia Basin College (CBC), or any online student living local to the Tri-Cities, WA. * Students will be sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate status and enrolled full-time, as determined by the institution. * Willing and able to work 15-40 hours a week on a Monday - Thursday, 6 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. schedule. * Actively enrolled in a full-time degree program that relates to CPCCo, with emphasis in specific disciplines that support the cleanup mission and aligns with the critical skills and job assignment requirements.

Compensation

Starting rate is based on academic standing and field of degree, ranging from an hourly rate of $21.80 to $29.10 plus an additional $5.09 health & welfare adder in accordance with the Service Contract Act.
