Duties

The Team Lead supports the execution of communications and integrated services for Hanford Mission Integration Solutions (HMIS), working across both HMIS corporate communications and One Hanford Integrated Services. This position serves as an operational lead for the team, coordinating work, leading projects and helping translate organizational priorities into actionable communications and service deliverables. The Team Lead works across functional areas to maintain alignment, resolve day-to-day operational issues and keep projects moving efficiently. The position serves as the primary operational point of contact in the Communications Director's absence and is authorized to make routine decisions related to work execution, project priorities, assignments and deliverables within established direction. The Team Lead does not have personnel-management responsibilities and does not administer or oversee the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) or Privacy Act programs. Key Responsibilities *Lead and coordinate communications and integrated-service projects supporting both HMIS corporate priorities and One Hanford activities. *Serve as the operational lead for day-to-day work, helping coordinate priorities, assignments, schedules and deliverables across the team. *Serve as the primary operational point of contact in the Communications Director's absence, making timely decisions within established priorities, policies and strategic direction. *Lead cross-functional projects from planning through execution, coordinating contributors, schedules, reviews, approvals and final delivery. *Translate leadership direction and organizational priorities into actionable work for project teams. *Coordinate development and distribution of communications products, including internal and external communications, employee messages, presentations, fact sheets, web content, social media, media materials and other products. *Support development and execution of strategic communications campaigns across earned, owned and internal channels. *Coordinate messaging and communications activities across HMIS departments, One Hanford contractors and Department of Energy partners as appropriate. *Review communications products for quality, accuracy, consistency, audience relevance and alignment with approved messaging and brand standards. *Identify competing priorities, schedule conflicts, resource constraints and other operational challenges and recommend or implement solutions. *Maintain visibility of project status, deadlines, dependencies and emerging issues and elevate matters requiring management attention. *Lead meetings, project teams and working groups as assigned. *Support high-profile, time-sensitive and emerging communications needs, including events, leadership engagements, media activities and issue response. *Help establish and improve workflows, processes and tools that increase efficiency, accountability and consistency across communications and integrated services. *Monitor communications performance and stakeholder feedback and recommend adjustments to improve effectiveness. *Coordinate with internal customers and partner organizations to clarify requirements, establish expectations and maintain progress toward deliverables. *Provide continuity of operations across HMIS corporate communications and One Hanford services when the Communications Director is unavailable. *Perform other communications and integrated-services duties as assigned.

Qualifications

*Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Public Administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. *6+ years of progressive experience in communications, public affairs, project management or a related professional field. *Demonstrated experience leading complex projects involving multiple contributors, customers or stakeholder groups. *Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to develop clear, concise and audience-appropriate content. *Ability to translate complex technical, regulatory or organizational information into accessible communications. *Strong project-management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and time-sensitive deliverables simultaneously. *Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and make operational decisions within established policies, priorities and strategic direction. *Ability to lead through influence, coordinate the work of peers and build alignment without direct supervisory authority. *Experience developing or executing communications across digital, social media, web, internal communications or traditional media channels. *Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration across a multi-functional, multi-stakeholder environment. *Ability to obtain and maintain a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credential badge.

Compensation
