Duties

Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C) seeks Work Control Planners who will be responsible for developing work packages using H2C Work Control Processes and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) for corrective/preventive maintenance, modification, fabrication, select operational activities and expense-based project construction of tank farm structures/systems/components. Under minimal supervision, applies an extensive and diversified knowledge of Work Control Planner principles and practices in assignments and related work. The Work Control Planner responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: - Analyze planning processes for efficiency and makes recommendations to management; - Act as a subject matter expert in areas of Work Control; - Conduct planning meetings and provide planning status to support schedules; - Conduct Job Hazard Analysis meetings; - Prepare, track, and control work orders, required to accomplish assigned activities; - Understanding hazards (Physical, chemical, radiological) and application of appropriate controls; - Provide oversight of miscellaneous planning when directed by management; - Review and analyze work documents for proper classification, priority, and description; - Prepare work documents in accordance with work control processes; - With minimal input from the planning team, provide estimates of material needed for job completion; - Develop material requests; - Initiate Plant Forces Work Review; - Develop work orders for low, medium and high risk/complexity jobs; - Complete Planner Post Review; - Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Grade 16: Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) with 3 years of practical work experience in planning or related areas, or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience. Grade 17: Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) with 5 years of practical work experience in planning or related areas, or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience. **NOTE: The essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous level, however the scope of responsibility is significantly larger, and the expected level of performance is greatly increased. Grade 18: Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) with 7 years of practical work experience in planning or related areas, or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience. **NOTE: The essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous level, however the scope of responsibility is significantly larger, and the expected level of performance is greatly increased.

Compensation

In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, H2C takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial grade and salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made at the appropriate grade level and within the targeted hiring range posted according to these factors. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
