Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C) delivers exceptional performance in safely removing, treating, and disposing of tank waste. H2C leads the nation's largest and most complex radioactive waste cleanup, including closure of the legacy waste tanks at Hanford containing 56 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste. The Material Procurement group is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join its dedicated and hardworking team at Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C). The team procures a wide range of materials, from small consumables to multimillion dollar fabrications and plays a key role in supporting H2C's mission. Each day offers fast paced and diverse challenges as the group works to ensure materials are delivered accurately, efficiently, and on time. Under general supervision, the individual will primarily focus on expediting duties, with responsibilities including ensuring timely delivery, resolving delays, and coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to keep orders on track. This role will follow prescribed procedures to support on-time completion of all procurement activities. The individual will also solicit, negotiate, place, and administer purchase orders for various materials in accordance with established requirements. Other duties may include: *Ensure timely delivery of materials by expediting orders, resolving delays, and coordinating closely with suppliers and internal teams to keep procurement activities on track. *Review open orders, manage delivery schedules, and work with suppliers to meet original promise dates and on time delivery goals. *Track critical parts and priority orders, identify potential workflow delays, and implement corrective actions promptly. *Communicate with vendors and suppliers to address issues, resolve invoice discrepancies, and ensure timely payment. *Coordinate with Material Management, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Receiving, Accounts Payable, and warehouse teams to resolve receiving issues, support disposition of NCRs, and ensure smooth procurement workflow. *Monitor, evaluate, and report supplier performance against purchase order requirements and deliverables. *Generate procurement documents, maintain organized files, and manage tracking data, reports, and weekly status updates. *Conduct market research to support project needs and procurement strategies. *Review subcontract/purchase order documentation, including Catalog IDs, noncompetitive justifications, inaccuracies, questions, and compliance with quality clauses. *Participate in pre-procurement planning, preparation of solicitation documents, and processing of RFQs/RFPs. *Provide recommendations for improvements to supply chain processes. *Ensure ISMS principles are incorporated into daily execution of procurement activities. *Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Grade 14: Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or other related discipline; and One (1) year relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Grade 15: Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or other related discipline; and Two (2) year relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is larger, and the expected level of performance is increased. Grade 16: Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or other related discipline; and Three (3) year relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is larger, and the expected level of performance is increased.

Compensation

In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, H2C takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial grade and salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made at the appropriate grade level and within the targeted hiring range posted according to these factors. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
