Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C) leads the nation's largest and most complex radioactive waste cleanup effort. Every day, our teams work to safely remove, treat, and dispose of 56 million gallons of legacy tank waste at the Hanford Site in Richland, Washington. At H2C, your work has a meaningful impact—today and for future generations. Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C) has 8 TEMPORARY Truck Driver-Heavy position(s) available. The individual will operate a semi-trailer and truck and trailer; transit mix; motor crane; A-frame; fuel truck; three axle truck; dump truck; forklift; two-axle flatbed; water truck; farm tractor, and related equipment; passenger bus; perform taxi, chauffeur, and wrecker services. Wash and clean vehicles, make minor repairs incidental to driving, such as, changing tires, etc. Also includes towing of trash trailer with two-axle trucks, loading and unloading of vehicles, and perform general labor functions as assigned. Utilize material moving equipment such as a manual or power-driven hand trucks, wheelbarrows, etc. in the duties of moving, lift, stacking, loading or unloading. Perform ground and shrubbery maintenance including mowing, pruning, trimming, weeding and snow removal. Utilize and operate all ground and shrub maintenance equipment in performance of the above tasks. Shift work may be required. *THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION WHICH IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR BENEFITS*
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED. - Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazardous Waste (H) AND Tanker endorsements (N), OR combination endorsement (X). *Proof of License/CDL/Endorsements will be required if selected for an interview.
Compensation
In accordance with the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), the salary offered for this position will be reflective of the assigned job classification and associated wage scale. Actual placement on the wage scale will be based on a candidate's education, training and/or experience. A step rate increase will be implemented every six months (as applicable) until the top rate of the wage scale is reached. Entry Level Hourly Rate: $41.514 Top Level Hourly Rate: $43.700 ***THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION, WHICH IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR BENEFITS*** Depending on the nature of your employment with H2C, you can expect the following: - A business casual dress work environment: jeans are permissible (restrictions may apply). - Opportunity for work/life balance: a standard 4 x 10 work schedule, allowing more personal time to enjoy life outside of the office (other schedules and/or shift work may be required). Note: employment at H2C involves working in the office or in the field depending on the role. Some positions may require the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD 12) Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credential. DOE may also direct H2C to implement PIV credentialing requirements for all incoming and current employees at any time. If this occurs, candidates will be required to complete and pass the federal background check investigation tier associated with their position. A favorable federal determination is mandatory for initial and continued employment in any role requiring a PIV credential. All tiers of federal background investigation include a declaration of prior illegal drug activities (such as use, possession, supply, or manufacture) within a federally defined timeframe.
