Duties
Hanford Mission Integration Solutions (HMIS) is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and coordinate the Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) Program, supporting the Hanford Site, including the Department of Energy (DOE) and its contractors. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering GIS-related projects, ensuring that all initiatives align with organizational objectives and drive meaningful results through effective collaboration with stakeholders across the site. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THIS POSITION INCLUDE, BUT MAY NOT BE LIMITED TO: *Manage complex GIS Program projects and initiatives from inception through completion, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, and budget. *Develop, implement, and maintain project management plans including requirements gathering, risk assessment, resource allocation, timeline management, and milestone tracking. *Lead, mentor, and coordinate project teams, fostering a collaborative, professional, and results-driven environment. *Facilitate productive communication and engagement with stakeholders and customers, setting clear expectations and ensuring alignment with business and technical objectives. *Oversee comprehensive project documentation and regular project reporting to management and stakeholders. *Drive ongoing process improvement and innovation within the GIS Program. *Proactively identify and resolve project issues, risks, and obstacles. *Ensure compliance with site safety, quality assurance, and all applicable regulatory standards throughout all phases of project work. *Promote stakeholder buy-in, program support, and successful change management through effective strategies and ongoing engagement. *Stay current on project management best practices and emerging geospatial technology trends to support continual program advancement. *Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
*Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field—OR—an equivalent combination of education and experience. *Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in managing IT or GIS projects, project portfolio management, or leading large enterprise technology programs. *Demonstrated experience leading project teams and managing complex projects on time and within budget. *Strong ability to translate stakeholder requirements and business goals into actionable technical plans and solutions. *Excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communication, and presentation skills; able to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. *Eagerness to learn and ability to thrive in dynamic, cross-functional team environments. *Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. *Ability to obtain and maintain a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Credential badge.
Compensation
