H2C leads the nation's largest and most complex radioactive waste cleanup, including closure of the legacy waste tanks at Hanford containing 56 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste. H2C seeks a Technical Specialist to support the Effluent Treatment Facility (ETF). ETF is a 24/7 operating radiological facility that receives, treats, and disposes of liquid effluents from Effluent Management Facility (EMF), 242-A Evaporator, and various on-site projects. The ETF Technical Specialist coordinates and leads the implementation of the LOTO program at the ETF. Ensure field regulations including DOE directives, personnel safety, environmental compliance and safety of the general public. Create and maintain a total quality and safe climate that encourages the commitment of all employees to meet or exceed the program requirements and customer needs. Ensure the requirements of DOE-0336, Hanford Site LOTO Procedure are effectively followed. Advise upper management of potential areas of concern and impact of proposed changes. * Function as the LOTO Technical Authority regarding all aspects to ensure safe and efficient implementation of the LOTO program. * Interface with the Hanford Site LOTO Committee * Attend H2C Hazardous Energy Control Committee meetings consistent with TFC-CHARTER-41, LOTO Hazardous Energy Control Committee. * Maintain training and expertise for all Controlling Organization Administrator responsibilities defined in DOE-0336, Hanford Site LOTO Procedure. * Maintain documentation to identify Controlling Organization personnel throughout H2C * Maintain H2C LOTO procedures and policies as well as the related information on the H2C LOTO website. * Attend team planning meetings, pre-job and post job briefings as necessary to support maintenance and operations activities. * Assist field personnel and engineers in remedial field investigations, including data collection, data entry, and documentation, and record keeping, assist in implementation of procedures. * Provide field support for LOTO questions regarding plant/system modifications, and work requests as necessary. * Maintain knowledge of safety policies and procedures and perform assigned duties in a safe and compliant manner, and if supervising others, be responsible for the safety of those being supervised and ensuring they comply with established safety policies and procedures. * Responsible for maintaining Shift Operations Manager, Building Emergency Director and LOTO COA qualifications. * Maintains high level of knowledge of facility corrective and preventative maintenance and prioritizes to meet facility goals. * Evaluate work activities for possible positive or negative work practices and champion adjustment. * Perform periodic oversight to ensure implementation and effectiveness of requirements including performance of Management Observations. * Fosters a self-critical and open-to-improvement culture.

Qualifications

Grade 20: Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a scientific discipline or a related field and ten (10) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Grade 21: Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a scientific discipline or a related field and a minimum of twelve (12) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is significantly larger, and the expected level of performance is greatly increased.

Compensation

In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, H2C takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial grade and salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made at the appropriate grade level and within the targeted hiring range posted according to these factors. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
