Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C) delivers exceptional performance in safely removing, treating, and disposing of tank waste. H2C leads the nation's largest and most complex radioactive waste cleanup, including closure of the legacy waste tanks at Hanford containing 56 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste. The HR Transition Planning and Workforce Analytics Specialist supports H2C's workforce strategy priorities (e.g., reorganizations, operating model changes, integrations/divestitures) and assisting with selected HR analytics workstreams. This role assists in the coordination of the HR components necessary to plan and execute organizational transitions—including workforce population tracking, action logs, transition schedules, readiness dashboards, data validation, communications support, payroll/benefits coordination, and executive status reporting. It also contributes to organizational assessments (e.g., structure/role mapping, spans & layers, supervisor alignment, and classification consistency) to support sound design decisions and effective implementation. The role requires strong organization, confidentiality, follow-through, attention to detail, and the ability to work across HR, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, Labor Relations, HRIS, Recruiting, Legal, and business stakeholders. Roles and Responsibilities * Support the master transition population file, including employee counts, position mapping, supervisor mapping, classification status, and readiness fields. * Track HR readiness items related to payroll, benefits, HRIS, onboarding, badging/access, training, communications, and employee support. * Prepare meeting materials—agendas, notes, action items, decision logs—and manage follow up tracking for transition and assessment meetings. * Maintain transition-related HR risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies, and decision items; escalate and drive resolution as needed. * Develop concise status summaries, dashboards, and briefing materials for the HR director, senior leaders, and transition governance forums. * Assist with change communications including FAQs, manager talking points, employee messaging, and communication tracking. * Compare source data, identify discrepancies, track corrections, and support clean handoffs to HRIS, payroll, and benefits partners. * Draft workforce development presentations and schedules to support management strategic decision making. Organizational Assessment & Reorganization Support * Conduct basic organizational assessments (structure mapping, spans & layers, role clarity, supervisor alignment, and classification consistency) to inform reorganization decisions. * Support workforce sizing and readiness reviews, capturing impacts to roles, training, and access requirements. * Contribute to org design artifacts (updated org charts, role profiles, and position data) and ensure alignment with policies/processes. Talent Programs * Assist with Enterprise Job Rotation Program development, including participation tracking, rotation placement, completion, readiness impact, and retention linkages. * Assist with mentoring and succession planning as needed. Data Quality & Reporting * Assist with employee data validation, missing field review, duplicate checks, and exception tracking. * Support basic reporting for headcount, transition readiness, compensation backup, and workforce planning. * Provide clean, organized data inputs for dashboards. * Maintain data dictionaries, field definitions, and source owner notes where needed. * Maintain SharePoint, and workforce development websites. The successful candidate will possess: * Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with attention to detail. * Excellent communication and presentation abilities. * Ability to interface professionally with all levels of management and staff.

Qualifications

Grade 15: BA/BS degree in Human Resource Management, Business, or related field and Two (2) years' related experience Grade 16: BA/BS degree in Human Resource Management, Business, or related field and Three (3) years' related experience Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is larger, and the expected level of performance is increased.

Compensation

In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, H2C takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial grade and salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made at the appropriate grade level and within the targeted hiring range posted according to these factors. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
