What You’Ll Do Day-To-Day: Has the responsibility for assigned MC&A efforts within the U.S. including both day-to-day operations and planned facility expansions. Perform nuclear material inventory audits and lead an annual physical inventory of all material. Perform sampling studies to estimate nuclear material concentration variances. Calculate inventory uncertainty based on inventory transactions, measurement systems used, and measurement uncertainties. Track and report nuclear material receipts and shipments and perform Shipper Receiver Difference evaluations of nuclear material receipts. Administer the facility’s nuclear inventory database and coordinate software improvements. As a Safeguards Specialist - Associate, you will be part of the nuclear Material Control and Accounting team that supports the Framatome nuclear fuel fabrication plant in Richland, WA. The Associate position is intended for new or recent graduates to learn key aspects of MC&A tasks while mentored by experienced Safeguards Specialists. The MC&A team is part of the Environmental, Health, Safety, and Licensing department that supports the fabrication of commercial nuclear fuel for both traditional light water reactors and new advanced reactors. The MC&A team ensures that nuclear material present at the Richland WA plant is accurately measured and tracked so that any losses are detected as required by federal regulations and international agreements.

Qualifications

What You'Ll Bring: Bachelor’s Degree in Math, Science, Engineering or related field. Related experience may be accepted in lieu of degree. Basic knowledge of physics, chemistry, math, statistics, and accounting. Basic communication skills to comprehend and convey detailed technical data. Grows developed network and maintains good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment.

Compensation

Total Rewards Package: Salary: $80,168.40 - $95,000 , and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
